Arts Education

Arts Education Programs

MPCT offers arts education programming for youth and adults throughout the year. Our classes are taught by professional artists and educators and are designed to be welcoming for beginners while offering meaningful creative development for experienced participants.


Youth Programs

After-School Arts Workshops (Ages 6–12)

Weekly workshops in visual arts, ceramics, and mixed media. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30–5:00 PM during the school year at Stan Wadlow Community Centre. All materials provided.

Fall 2024 session: September 10 – November 14, 2024
Winter 2025 session: January 14 – March 20, 2025
Fee: $85 per 10-week session | Subsidies available

Teen Studio (Ages 13–17)

A drop-in studio space for teenagers to explore painting, drawing, printmaking, and digital art with mentorship from local professional artists. Saturdays, 1:00–4:00 PM at the MPCT Studio, 15 Monarch Park Avenue.

Fee: Free for members | $5 drop-in for non-members

Summer Arts Camp (Ages 6–14)

Six weeks of full-day arts programming each summer. Each week features a different creative theme. Activities include visual arts, theatre, music, and creative writing. Lunch and snacks included. Extended care available.

Fee: $275/week | Early bird rate available if registered before April 30
Note: Camps fill quickly. Please register early to avoid disappointment.


Adult Programs

Watercolour Painting

8-week evening classes for beginners and intermediate painters. Thursdays, 7:00–9:00 PM. Materials list provided; some supplies available to borrow.

Fee: $150/session | 15% member discount

Pottery & Ceramics

Learn hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques in our small-group pottery classes. Saturdays, 10:00 AM–12:30 PM. Kiln firing included.

Fee: $180/session (includes clay and firing) | 15% member discount

Life Drawing

Drop-in life drawing sessions with a live model. Open to all levels. Wednesdays, 7:00–9:00 PM at the MPCT Studio.

Fee: $15 per session | $10 for members

One-Day Workshops

Throughout the year, we offer one-day and weekend workshops in specialised topics such as printmaking, bookbinding, photography, and plein air painting. Check our Events page for upcoming dates.


Registration Information

Registration for the Fall 2024 session opened on August 15, 2024. Winter 2025 registration opens in December.

MPCT members receive priority registration and a 15% discount on all paid programs. Become a member today.
